In my earlier article, DIY Beauty Skin Care, I listed several all natural products you can use at home to improve skin health. I LOVE all natural products and anything that improves the health and appearance of your skin…which is why I thought I’d do a review on Baebody’s Moisturizing Retinol Cream. It’s the only face cream I use, and for several reasons.
- Made with all natural product made in USA
- 71% organic materials (I’ll explain more in a minute)
- Contains 2.5% retinol – which decreases wrinkles and sun damage
- Very inexpensive
- Lasts me 3-4 months at a time
- I continue to see results after 6 months of use
If you’re someone who’s looking to smooth out fine lines, dark spots and improve the overall health of your skin, I would encourage you to consider trying this product. Baebody’s Moisturizing Retinol Cream has quickly become my favorite go-to night cream.
So if you want youthful, glowing skin for less than $20 keep reading!
The first time I purchased Baebody’s Retinol Cream was last September. It was the end of summer when I was starting to notice some extra “frown lines” on my forehead. Whether that was from the increased sun exposure or from the stress of getting married, moving across country and starting a new job within a matter of two weeks, I’m not sure… Nevertheless, as a 22-year-old, I was shocked.
“I shouldn’t be getting wrinkles!” I exclaimed to my husband one day.
After doing a little research online, I decided to give Baebody’s Retinol Cream a try. It was cheap enough for me to not get my hopes up too much – however I figured at the very least, it would be a good moisturizer. My skin had already become so dry since moving from the 98% humidity in Alabama to the 8% humidity in California.
I used Baebody’s Retinol Cream every night before bed and first started noticing a difference in wrinkles and skin appearance at around 3 months. I was shocked actually. Most of the research I’d done had stated that most retinol creams took 6-12 months to start “working”.
Seeing results this soon was exciting! I continued using the cream until around Christmas when I ran out (I went into panic mode) and quickly ordered some more. To this day I have continued to use it and absolutely love it!
How does It Work?
If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering what makes this product so effective. I mean, with thousands of beauty products on the market, what would make this one any different from another retinol-based cream?
Here’s a list of the ingredients:
Among the ingredients listed, notice the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, B5, Jojoba Oil and Green Tea. In addition to Retinol, these products have been used by many to improve the health and appearance of skin.
A Breakdown of the Ingredients
This substance is naturally found in the body. It’s mostly concentrated in the fluid of the eyes and joints, however some doctors have used it during cataract surgeries and joint injections for osteoarthritis and other bone degenerative conditions. Although it’s not scientifically proven, some research has suggested that using hyaluronic acid to reduce wrinkles has proven to be effective…and many women have testified to its usefulness as well!

One of the best moisturizers and anti-aging vitamins I’ve found to keep my skin smooth and glowing is vitamin E. It’s antioxidants help protect skin cells from free radicals. Also, its high absorption rate does wonders for encouraging new collagen growth.

Vitamin B5 is one of the eight B vitamins that helps the body maintain a healthy metabolism and improve cell health (therefore improving skin health as well). It’s also known as Pantothenic Acid, which aids with numerous functions of the body.

Another great moisturizer that is very gentle on the skin is Jojoba oil. Considered “noncomedogenic”, it doesn’t irritate the skin. Why? Because Jojoba oil highly favors the sebum that our skin produces, making it an excellent natural moisturizer. Besides promoting youthful skin, it also has been used for hair growth, soothing cuts, fighting fungal infections and removing makeup.

A HUGE source of antioxidants with dozens of other loaded benefits, it’s no surprise that green tea is also a major health booster for your skin. By binding to the damaging free radicals, the antioxidants in green tea help protect your skin cells from damage and visible wear and tear.

The Cream Itself
Now that you know what’s actually in Baebody’s Retinol Moisturizer Cream, you might wonder how it feels on your skin. After all, not all skin care creams are made the same. Some are too light, making it hard to penetrate deep into your pores. Others are too thick that carry the potential to clog your pores and cause irritation.
Rest assured that this cream is none of the above. When you squirt the product onto your fingers, it feels light. However, upon application it almost takes on a velvety consistency (if that makes any sense). Despite it’s light consistency, the cream penetrates deeper into the layers of your skin. It’s like having the benefits of a moisturizing spa treatment all wrapped up in one cream.
Even though I didn’t see results immediately when I first started using this product, I loved the way it felt on my skin. Additionally, it carried no harsh scents or chemicals. Initially I figured that even if it wasn’t effective, I would keep using it since it made my face feel this good…
…and looking back, I’m glad I did! Not only did it work, but it still continues to soften the lines in my face and smooth out my skin tone.
To sum everything up, here’s my list of pro’s and con’s for Baebody’s Moisturizing Retinol Cream
